It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

We ventured into the "district," as the locals refer to it, to see the National Tree, last night.  Not to sound like Scrooge, but for being named the "National Tree," we expected quite a bit more than we got.  This thing has nothing on the Rockefeller Tree....then again, what does?  Here it is...

The train set going round and round did add a nice effect.

Aside from the tree, there were some fun surrounding details:

High School Choir from Columbus Ohio.
The White House from afar (minor detail).
Each state was represented by a tree.  The tree was adorned with hand-painted bulbs representing highlights from the particular state (e.g. NYC Skyline).
Check out this AWESOME fire-pit.  It was dug about 10-12 feet into the ground!

Merry Christmas!!

I pinched my boyfriends nipples and this is what I got...

Please, like you've never had the urge.

So...last weekend I snuck up on Wes and pinched his nipples from behind.  hahaha - I'm laughing out loud as I write this.  Why is it that silly names are given to such funny body parts?  Nipples.  Haha.

Anyyyyyyway...Wes has cat-like reflexes, so he immediately grabbed both of my hands in one of his and started tickling me with the other.  Tickle - another funny word.  Well, anyone who knows me well, knows that I HATE to be tickled.  My reflex?  Not so smart.  I flung my body backwards, along with Wes' and crashed into the corner of our dresser at full speed.  The rate at which I reacted, combined with both of our body weights caused the below wound:

This image is immediately following the incident.  Fast-forward a day or so and you would see an ugly bruise and raised skin.  It was a beauty.

I'm happy to report that things are healing well.  A scab has surfaced and it's itchy - all good signs.

I've also learned my lesson - to successfully pinch nipples, move to an area free of sharp edges.

Nipple.  :)

And last but certainly not least...

...how could we forget our wonderful friends?  Before we're home again for another lovely holiday, we better finish up the last.  The Friday after Thanksgiving we gathered at Selena's for some missed Margaritas and much needed catch-up time with fantastic friends (and some family, too :))...

Pretty smiles!

Newlyweds
XO

We hope to see all of you and MORE over Christmas!  We'll be home from Friday the 23rd - New Years-ish!

Kickin' it Old School

We stumbled upon this taxi in our neighborhood the other day.  Don't you wish modern day cabs still looked like this?

Shout out!

Looking to freshen up on your cab riding skills?  Check out these Taxi Tips!  Personally, we like tip #5: Fasten your seatbelt.  Yeah, ok.

What's your go-to...

...Christmas movie?

Last Sunday, we continued Wes' tradition of watching both Home Alone movies while enjoying some frosty beverages.  KEVIN!!!!!!!!

We felt the need for more...

and of course...

Watch out for the yellow ones, they don't stop!

Woof

Meet Charlie. While walking out of our building this morning, we noticed a stray dog. So, we called the numbers on his tag and left messages...the owners called us back quickly and were very thankful. The wind (and boy is it windy today) blew their front door open while they were upstairs and Charlie bolted. We're happy to announce that he is safely back with his owners. :)

Is this what they mean when they say "I had an ah-ha moment?"

My whole life I thought the slogan was "nobody DOES IT like Sara Lee." Until today when I was stuck in traffic. Wow.

BTW: This post is brought to you by Jaime...not Wes. He, like the rest of the world, probably already knew that. :/

Muffin Pan Tacos? Say What?!

As if life couldn't get any better, Wes found another way to eat TACOS!!!  Tacos, tacos, TACOS - we love tacos!  Check out the Muffin Pan Tacos we made for dinner esta noche...
They were pretty easy to make!  Check out the recipe here:  Muffin Pan Tacos
If you decide to make 'em, WATCH OUT, they're super filling.  Here's an actual conversation mid-food coma:
Jaime:  "I'm super full."
Wes:  "I know, I'm just eating this to taste it."

...he almost made it to the couch.
p.s. we used the extra tortilla shells to make our very own chips - we were so amazed by our abilities, that we had to talk ourselves down from starting a food blog.  We're just not there yet - we still eat Mac n Cheese at least 2 nights a week.  :)

To Infinity and Beyond!

Yesterday we spent part of the afternoon at the Air and Space Museum and then came home to begin some holiday decorating.  Check.it.out...

Looks like it'll fit.
You know you were curious, too.
It's amazing the amount of controls inside a cockpit.  This picture doesn't even do it justice.  Talk about multi-tasking.
On our way home.  Playing with the settings on the Hipstamatic APP.  LOVE IT (thanks Ben!).
Love the sidewalks in this part of Arlington.  Clarendon neighborhood behind us, Courthouse (home-ish) ahead.
Let the holidays begin!!
...and a delicious dinner to end an enjoyable day.  Spinach tortellini with pesto sauce, arugula salad with champagne pear dressing (best recent find), french bread and a $3.49 bottle of wine.

The 1st Annual Jumoli Wine Tour...

While home for Thanksgiving our families came together for a tour de vino - appropriately named The Jumoli (Juliano/Limoli) Wine Tour.  How lucky are we?  Our families actually enjoy spending time together.  Here's a glimpse into our experience...

Wes kicking the day off with a toast.  Don't worry, Karyn became happier as the day went on.
Our chariot awaits.
Puffy paint is AWESOME!!
Our 2 beautiful mothers.  Cheers from Belhurst - our first stop!
Wine AND beer tasting = perfect day.
Happy Times.
aaaaaand then things got interesting.
"Where did the wine go?" sulked Wes.  "Oh yeah, saggy pants stole it from Brad!"  Who the hell steals wine on a wine tour??
"I think he went this way!"
We eventually got over it...
...and made some new friends.

...like any good story, all good things must come to an end...

Muppet face?
FRANK THE TANK!
I mean the snacks we made were delicious, but this is quite a reaction!
aaaahahahahaha.
Who's in for next year??
Seriously, though, we couldn't be happier to have two AWESOME families.  We can't wait to see everyone again soon!

Tissues or Kleenex?

What do you call it?

Well, whatever your flavor, take a look at this awesome box of 2-plys courtesy of Trader Joes:

Love.  Especially the appropriately matched closings.  It's all about the details, people.
