Tissues or Kleenex?

What do you call it?

Well, whatever your flavor, take a look at this awesome box of 2-plys courtesy of Trader Joes:

Love.  Especially the appropriately matched closings.  It's all about the details, people.

Gobble, Gobble...and we did!

Boy did we have an action packed Thanksgiving Weekend!  Let's begin with the day of THANKS...

Just a reminder.
Isabella was obsessed with trying on everyone's glasses.  Wes got in on the action, too.
Close ups!
Wait, are those knee highs?  ...or better yet, knee highs over leggings?  The pilgrims had nothing on Karyn's Thanksgiving style.

After a delicious dinner at the Limoli's, it was off to Ashley & Ian's (Wes' cousin and husband) for dessert and games!

Let the Catch Phrase Marathon begin!

Prepare yourself, these games can get INTENSE.
We tried to remember what brought about this laughter.  No luck - way too many funny moments during a Catch Phrase game.  Could it have been "Michelle Obama!?" or perhaps it was Rylyn's pigeon arms?  :)

Opa!

We decided to brave the rain tonight in order to experience another restaurant in the area and have our very own "Thanksgiving..."Arlington style.  We stumbled upon Cava - a Greek Tapas Restaurant right in Clarendon. Think, Tapas meets Good Luck for the vibe and...ummmmm...well, the best damn Greek food you've ever had.  So much for finding mashed potatoes and corn, we'll get plenty of that on Thursday.  Opa, everyone!
Who doesn't love a Kalamata Olive?  Well, Wes actually...more for Jaime!

Orzo with greek cheeses, tomato sauce and cinnamon = freakin delicious.
Tilt your head for some Grilled Meatballs

It wouldn't be a Greek meal if we didn't try out their Spanakopita.
...and of course, we had to try Greek Mac N Cheese.  Not sure we can actually classify this as Mac N Cheese, given the use of pepardelle pasta, but taken literally, it lives up to it's name.  Whatever, it was delicious.
...and how cool is the silverware?!
All-in-all, a great Thanksgiving dinner in Arlington.  Or should we say Thanksgreeking?  Ok, we ate too much cheese.

Let's Have a Day!

It's been a long time coming, but yesterday, we had a DAY!  We've been dying to take advantage of the museums in the area and so off we went.  Enjoy some of our findings...

S.I. National Museum of Natural History

Huge.
These fossils are unbelievable.  We had to keep reminding ourselves that they were legit.
Hands down, the best fruit and nut medley we've ever had.  Just visit the DinerSaurus Cafe at the museum to have a taste.

We imagine this creature to speak in a low, sad voice, while constantly shrugging his shoulders.  Let's say, a mix of Milton and Eeyore.
Sorry friend, your days of hydration are over.

Wes was even represented at the Osteology Hall of Bones Exhibit!  The caption reads:  Right tibia with bone growth over surgical implant to correct a fracture.
So true.
The last, and most favorite exhibit we visited was at the Museum of Jaime and Wes.

A great day!  We think we'll have another today!

Look what just opened in the neighborhood!!

Love this place for many reasons...most importantly, their deliciously cheap wine.

Best Halloween Gift I Ever Got

...come to think of it, I don't think I have ever received a gift for Halloween. Well, other than the obvious chocolate kind. Anyway, I totally forgot to blog about the totally awesome shirt that Wes surprised me with for Halloween. Isn't it great?! Totally.

Smile Safe Kids!

School pics came back the other day, so obviously I brought mine home for Wes to put in his wallet immediately.  Well, apparently as part of the package these days, parents receive two cards with their child's picture and precautions to take should they go missing.  Interesting, odd, or smart?  We weren't sure how to take it.

...and in case you were worried, both Wes and I are carrying a copy in our wallets.  Serious.

Time to Ketchup!

We thought that moving away from our family and friends would mean a lot more down time.  One thing we both discussed when making the decision to move, was that for a while it would only be "us..." until we made friends, established ourselves, a routine, etc. etc.  Could we handle that?  Would we get sick of each other?  Well, it's proved to be quite the opposite.  Not that we thought otherwise, but moving away has reminded us what awesome family and friends we really do have!  Our lives are so full because of all of you!  The past month or so has been filled with exciting events involving our family and friends.  And although, each of these moments is deserving of it's own post, time has escaped us, so we thought we'd do a nice summary instead.

Without further adieu, we present...

FALL FESTIVITIES 2011!

Was it October?  Yes, the first weekend in October, Mr. & Mrs. L came to town for a weekend visit!  Here we are in Old Town Alexandria on the Pier by the Potomac.
We also made our way into DC for some sightseeing!
We ate at this FAN-Tastic restaurant called Founding Farmers.  I was OBSESSED with their bathroom.  This is one of 3 pictures I took while visiting the facility.

Ok, on to the next weekend.  Home for Ben & Joanne's wedding extravaganza!!  Check out some shots of the beautiful day...
Love them.

Gorgeous.  The Jackie O Salon in Fairport is old faithful for our crew.  They do beautiful work!

All done up and somewhere special to go!

Peek-a-boo. I love this picture; she looks so beautiful!  I call it excited anticipation.

Fancy.  Fancy.

It was a family affair.  There's Brit, Ben's sister, reading a beautiful poem and off to the side is "Deacon Dave," Ben and Brit's bro, who married the happy couple!

We could go on and on about the things we loved about this wedding, but this is supposed to be a summary, after all!  If you'd like to see more, check out Jaime's shutterfly site:  http://snapphappy.shutterfly.com/

Sooooo, on to another special part of our lives...Next up while home, was a visit with new parents, Casey & Ryan and baby Nolan!

Unfortunately, we didn't take any pics at our visit, so we snagged this one off of Facebook.  Too cute to pass up!

I'm a bat!  Can't wait to see you again, Nolan!!

The very next weekend, Karyn came to visit!  She had a wedding to go to in Maryland and a cake to make for it!  Our apartment smelled sooooooo delicious that weekend!  Check.it.out.

Look, there she is!  What a fruit!
Ok, so again, I forgot to take pictures.  But, I did get a shot of the sliders she ate for brunch.  Yum.
Let's see, what was next??  Oh yes, Mike's visit, the following weekend!  We already posted some of the photos, but what the hell, here are some more.  Mike took the drive, by himself, late Friday, after an exam.  What a dedicated friend!  Thanks buddy; we had a great time with you!
Ponder.
Don't worry.  Be happy!
Neeeeeext up...Rylyn came to Baltimore with the tour of La Cage Aux Folles, so naturally to Baltimore we went!  Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of our faces together.  :(  I really need to get back on the photo train!  Here are some shots at the show, though...
There she is!  Her name, at least.  The show was WONDERFUL!  We can't waiiiiiiit till it comes back to DC in January!
There's the pink stage before the show!  It's SUCH an entertaining show with an incredibly talented cast; one young female in particular ;).
It's been a whirlwind of a Fall, that's for sure, but we've enjoyed every minute of it!  Looking forward to upcoming events...especially the WINE TOUR OF THE CENTURY over Thanksgiving weekend with our families!  Now those are going to be some interesting and incriminating photos ;)

That's all for now!
