Time to Ketchup!

We thought that moving away from our family and friends would mean a lot more down time.  One thing we both discussed when making the decision to move, was that for a while it would only be "us..." until we made friends, established ourselves, a routine, etc. etc.  Could we handle that?  Would we get sick of each other?  Well, it's proved to be quite the opposite.  Not that we thought otherwise, but moving away has reminded us what awesome family and friends we really do have!  Our lives are so full because of all of you!  The past month or so has been filled with exciting events involving our family and friends.  And although, each of these moments is deserving of it's own post, time has escaped us, so we thought we'd do a nice summary instead.

Without further adieu, we present...

FALL FESTIVITIES 2011!

Was it October?  Yes, the first weekend in October, Mr. & Mrs. L came to town for a weekend visit!  Here we are in Old Town Alexandria on the Pier by the Potomac.
We also made our way into DC for some sightseeing!
We ate at this FAN-Tastic restaurant called Founding Farmers.  I was OBSESSED with their bathroom.  This is one of 3 pictures I took while visiting the facility.

Ok, on to the next weekend.  Home for Ben & Joanne's wedding extravaganza!!  Check out some shots of the beautiful day...
Love them.

Gorgeous.  The Jackie O Salon in Fairport is old faithful for our crew.  They do beautiful work!

All done up and somewhere special to go!

Peek-a-boo. I love this picture; she looks so beautiful!  I call it excited anticipation.

Fancy.  Fancy.

It was a family affair.  There's Brit, Ben's sister, reading a beautiful poem and off to the side is "Deacon Dave," Ben and Brit's bro, who married the happy couple!

We could go on and on about the things we loved about this wedding, but this is supposed to be a summary, after all!  If you'd like to see more, check out Jaime's shutterfly site:  http://snapphappy.shutterfly.com/

Sooooo, on to another special part of our lives...Next up while home, was a visit with new parents, Casey & Ryan and baby Nolan!

Unfortunately, we didn't take any pics at our visit, so we snagged this one off of Facebook.  Too cute to pass up!

I'm a bat!  Can't wait to see you again, Nolan!!

The very next weekend, Karyn came to visit!  She had a wedding to go to in Maryland and a cake to make for it!  Our apartment smelled sooooooo delicious that weekend!  Check.it.out.

Look, there she is!  What a fruit!
Ok, so again, I forgot to take pictures.  But, I did get a shot of the sliders she ate for brunch.  Yum.
Let's see, what was next??  Oh yes, Mike's visit, the following weekend!  We already posted some of the photos, but what the hell, here are some more.  Mike took the drive, by himself, late Friday, after an exam.  What a dedicated friend!  Thanks buddy; we had a great time with you!
Ponder.
Don't worry.  Be happy!
Neeeeeext up...Rylyn came to Baltimore with the tour of La Cage Aux Folles, so naturally to Baltimore we went!  Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of our faces together.  :(  I really need to get back on the photo train!  Here are some shots at the show, though...
There she is!  Her name, at least.  The show was WONDERFUL!  We can't waiiiiiiit till it comes back to DC in January!
There's the pink stage before the show!  It's SUCH an entertaining show with an incredibly talented cast; one young female in particular ;).
It's been a whirlwind of a Fall, that's for sure, but we've enjoyed every minute of it!  Looking forward to upcoming events...especially the WINE TOUR OF THE CENTURY over Thanksgiving weekend with our families!  Now those are going to be some interesting and incriminating photos ;)

That's all for now!

It's a Wedding Weekend!

We're heading home tomorrow evening to celebrate the matrimony of our good friends Ben & Joanne!  Turns out, it's also the nuptials of Adam and Amber, Jaime's cousin and fiancee.  A 2 for 1!

Check out some pics of the happy couple...

Love them.
Seriously, they are a fantastic couple.
Like, a totally RAD couple.
This way to the wedding!!!
Cheers!  To Ben & Joanne and Adam & Amber!  We hope your special day is everything you you've hoped for and more!

Ah, how good it feels! The hand of an old friend.

While Wes and I work on making new friends, we were lucky enough to have some of the best "old" ones come to visit a couple of weekends ago!  Check out some shots from a "weekend dedicated to our good friend Joanne," to celebrate her upcoming nuptials!

After a few bottles of wine, we decided that it would be a good idea to pose with household items.  I'm not sure what I'm holding in this shot, but I know that in the next one I thought it would be more powerful if I picked up the giant framed poster behind me.  Meg and Joanne, what did you guys hold in the next one?  Eachother?

Chef Meg made these deeeeeeeeelicious spinach linguine frittatas the following morning!  Soooooo good!

Next stop:  the nail salon, of course! So, I asked the sweet nail technician if she would mind taking a picture of the 4 of us.  She didn't...but right before she pushed the button to take the picture she instructed us to "hold hands girls!"  And we did...without any hesitation or discussion.  It wasn't until a few hours later that one of us brought up how odd/awkward of a moment it really was.  Four smiling adults, calmly holding hands, while their feet soak in bath water.  Totally normal.

Priorities totally straight.

Our fearless chauffeur, David (pronounced Daveed).
Check out these awesome chairs we discovered at our first stop, The Donovan House!

Another stop on the Joanne train:  Lincoln. Obsessed with the light fixtures...and their Mac & Cheese.
Gimlet = Dunzo.
Best bread EVER.
This is where you can find the Best Bread EVER!  Birch & Barley....they also have fantastic Mac & Cheese.
Believe it or not, this isn't the end of the night.  Can you say, ROCKSTAR?  Or would it be waiter pressure, Joanne?  What a creeper he was.
The next day, Wes came to join the fun!  Look, there he is!! :)
Off to watch the Bills game at a Bills Backer Bar in Baltimore.  Whoa, alliteration.  For those of you who know her well, you can probably guess that this is where the "weekend dedicated to our good friend Joanne" ends.
...but not before we could capture proof that she sat and watched the game!  This is Joanne "cheering" for a touchdown!

There's nothing like good friends, good times, and some innocent hand holding.  *sigh*
